London-based noise-poppers Parlour are hard to pigeon-hole but easy to fall in love with. Starting out as lead singer Angela Won-Yink Mak's solo project with welcomed input from East London producer Rory Attwell, the twosome recruited bassist Danny Blackman, Florence van Camerijk on keys and backing vocals and drummer Kier Wiater Carniha, to form Parlour the band who have already managed to rack up a fair bit of hype around themselves with just two fantastic tracks on their Soundcloud and a handful of shows around London.

London quintet Echo Lake have made quiet the name for themselves in a very short period of time. February’s debut EP – ‘Young Silence’ – sold out in days, the accompanying video by filmmaker Dan Nixon reached 100k views in a few weeks, print press caught up with the blogosphere and fell in love, and the band toured, with the similarly fast-rising 2:54, for the first time.
“Hypnotic and enveloping Galaxie 500-inspired “swoon-pop” Gorilla vs Bear

Pub backrooms around the country are filled with bands who’ve mastered the motorik rhythms of krautrock and the feedback-laden haze of shoegaze only to forget to, er, write decent songs. This is not a mistake that Euan Hinshelwood’s Younghusband, under the guidance of Deerhunter producer Nicolas Vernhes, have made. The trippy ‘Comets Crossed’, stoner dream ‘Wavelength’ and the gorgeous ‘Constantly In Love’ show that, as with sonic relatives The Jesus And Mary Chain and The Brian Jonestown Massacre, Beatles melodies bloom beneath the distortion. There are meandering spots, particularly the unnamed interludes (‘*’ and ‘**’), but there’s plenty to fall in love with.
Younge Husband shared a split 7" with The History of Apple Pie for record store day 2013, this record is now out of print.
Weird dreams make Tammy’s and T. Rex flecked dreamy garage jams, with a gushy 60s southern soul heart. After a sold out cassette EP on Sleep All Days Sleepy King label, and only 4 shows, this London 3 piece Doran (guitar and vocals), Craig (drums) and Hugo (live help on bass) see their stacked harmonies and mutated guitar knots first wax release through Marshall Teller.

Dignan Porch are brothers Sam and Joe Walsh and friends Hayley, Phillippa and Ben. With their debut album ‘Tendrils’ released on Captured Tracks was widely praised for its song writing and fuzzy production. The band are from Tooting in South London, Tooting is fairly unfashionable and un-cool so the band lock themselves away and make tunes, then they get gigs in the cool parts of London and impress people. The band rehearses and records mainly at Joe and Sam’s parent’s house, upstairs in the front bedroom. Featured on MT001 back in 2010, now signed to Captured Tracks.

Not Cool are a self proclaimed ‘gutter pop’ band born in the winter of 2008. Incorporating 2/3s of the musical talent from Downham London, they released their debut 7″ on Sleep all day records in September 2009, which sold out super fast. They have been released also on Paradise Vendors Inc/ Italian Beach Babes 12″ compilation, which featured such bands as Male Bonding, Mazes and Spectrals to name a few.
Sadly Not Cool split as a band in 2012, we were lucky enough to feature them on MT001.
