"With a unique sound influenced in equal measure by David Lynch’s liminal, hallucinatory worlds, and acts as varied as the Beach boys, T. Rex, The Tammys, Syl Johnson and O.V. Wright, not for nothing have Weird Dreams been described as “the most exciting new band in London” RockFeedback
Weird Dreams Issued a super limited cassette a few months back that was snapped out super quick. While they nominally fit into the reverb-garage etc. global scenes they're also a lot more than that. Underneath the echo are some real classic stompers, which borrow a bit from northern soul, and classic dynamics that are going to outgrow the trends for sure. This is their first release on wax. Rough Trade
Weird dreams make Tammy’s and T. Rex flecked dreamy garage jams, with a gushy 60s southern soul heart. After a sold out cassette EP on Sleep All Days Sleepy King label, and only 4 shows, this London 3 piece Doran (guitar and vocals), Craig (drums) and Hugo (live help on bass)) see their stacked harmonies and mutated guitar knots first wax release through Marshall Teller.
Live, the band have already shared the stage with bands such as Women, Wild Nothing, Ty Segal, Male Bonding and Mazes, and 2011 promises to be even busier with a tour and high-profile supports planned. It's going to be a pretty weird year.
To start the year off Weird Dreams have just released a 12" ep on their own imprint Sleep All Day Records.
